The French company NOVALIMIT specializes in the provision of statistical data from sports competitions, data used by the televisions within the competition live broadcasts.

After several years of operation on the relevant market, NOVALIMIT has decided to develop the version 2.0 of a software system to watch football games – SOCCER 2011.

NOVALIMIT chose ITCenter Company for this project implementation because of its professional consultancy provided from the very first moment, the technical requirements being quickly understood and the execution of functionalities started in a very short delay. Other 2 criteria on which this decision was based:

Requirements

When we talk about "live broadcast", we talk about television and the challenges the application has to adapt to:

  • Live streaming = no errors are accepted;
  • Interfacing with other applications and platforms;
  • It must be operable under maximum emergency conditions;
    • It has to allow multiple modifications implemented with extreme responsiveness which is sometimes reduced to a few minutes.

The SOCCER 2011 Solution

The main goals of the project are:

  • Obtaining data about the team: possession, hold, actual time, passes, balls lost, balls recovered, fouls committed, etc.;
  • Obtaining data about the game (monitoring the fight between 2 rival players during the game);
  • Obtaining data about the referee.

Briefly, the premises on which the development of the Soccer 2011 application was based are:

  • Assistance: the project organization gives first priority to the client assistance so that he can take advantage of the expertise and know-how of ITCenter Company acquired from similar projects;
  • Consultancy: the solid experience in the field of management applications (distribution) and of the custom projects enabled us to bring the latest practices in this field to our clients, as well as the project added value;
  • Experience: we have used our expertise in the field to create ergonomic screens which are easy to use in order to maximize the productivity of the persons who use the application;

Architecture: Windows application -> database -> web service -> TV application -> data display on the screen
